Trail Conditions
These conditions are
provided by hardworking volunteers. Always check ice conditions before
going on the lake. The rider is ultimately responsible for his own
safety.

Here is a trail report for 3/17/09
All trails remain open on the Bruhawachet Sno-Trackers trails system.
Grooming continues and the following trails have been groomed since
yesterday
South Trail
Stinson Mtn
Watts Trail
Mead Swamp Trail
Camp Seven Trail
Quick Lunch Trail
More to follow.
Several areas to look out for are the hill up from the turn around on
the Camp Seven Trail where several bare spots are showing in the
corners. On the Mt Kineo trail there is an open water bar at the swamp
half way between Brown Brook and the Buzzel Valley Extension. There was
an area where you are able to get around it on Sunday. Other then that
there are a few rocks and stumps showing on some of the trails and care
should be taken to avoid these. The conditions are pretty good
considering the warm weather, but they are not optimum as we saw earlier
in the year so slow down and watch for obstructions.
If anyone would be interested in joining me on Saturday to cut some
trees and trim some brush on the Mt Kineo trail please e-mail me at
drewnutting@hotmail.com.
The CNHSC has cut trees from the Buzzel Valley extension towards the
Brown Brook area and there is about .7 miles left to cut and trim to
meet up where they left off. This will make us able to groom this trail
next year with the ASV and now is the time to do it when we can easily
get into the area.
Thanks, Drew/Trail Master

on a daily basis. Here is a listing of what we have so far:
Stinson Mtn, groomed and in very good condition
South Trail groomed in very good condition
Watts Trail groomed in very good condition
Mead Swamp Trail groomed in very good condition
Camp Seven Trail groomed in very good condition
Quick Lunch, North Trail, and Happy T scheduled to be groomed tomorrow.
All others as time permits.

Unknown at this time is the status of Three Ponds, Mt Kineo, Brown

broken open by this week-end.
If anyone has any further updates on these trails or questions, please
email me at

ALL TRAILS ARE OPEN!!!!
Thanks to all the hard work from the volunteers of the Bruhawachet
Sno-Trackers, all trails are open and in great shape. We were fully
open this past week-end in what has been one of the earliest full opens
we've had in quite some time. Many of the trails are already in mid
season or better shape.
Grooming continues on all trails and they should be in excellent
condition for the upcoming week-end. Snow is expected for tomorrow and
this should add to the great conditions that we now have.
Come enjoy the most diversified trail system in the state. We have a
mountain summit trail, wide road width trails, small wilderness trails,
and open lakes and ponds. We are assessable from the Corridor 14 trail
in Warren, trails from Thornton and Campton, and also from Plymouth.
If you would like a fully detailed trail map, they are available from
our club. Send a SASE along with $5.00 to Bruhawachet Sno-Trackers, PO
box 441, Rumney, N.H., 03266. Please write map on the front on the
envelope and we will mail one out to you.
Anyone that needs more info or questions on our trail system, you can

Here is a trail report for 1/2/09
Happy New Year Everyone!!
George, Eddie H, and I went out and opened up the Brown Brook Trail over
to Three Ponds and went down to the Three Ponds Parking lot. The trail
is open and fallen trees have been cut but there are a few bad spots out
there and you should use caution. We cut a hole in the ice and it
seemed as though there was plenty to support sleds but you should still
use caution. Try to stay on ridden spots across the water as we didn't
go through in any of these areas.
The North Trail is open but has light coverage and a few small water
bars. Use caution when crossing this trail.
Quick Lunch is open and in fair condition. Camp Seven is open and in
good condition. The Mead Swamp trail is open and is in very good
condition. The Watts trail is open and in good condition. The Stinson
Mountain trail is open and in good condition with a few icy spots and
one bad bare spot two thirds of the way to the top. South trail is open
and in good condition. The Weaton trail is open and in good condition.
Grooming operations continue and will do so as snow permits.
Remember to join our snowmobile club. It's easy. Download the
membership form, fill it out, and mail it in. We will then forward you
a membership card.
Thanks to all our members for their support. Your membership helps us
maintain the trails that you ride.

Here is a trail report for 12/29/08
I went out for a ride on Saturday with Laurie, Ed Healy & Chrissy,
Rachel & Keith Ingham, Mike Heneghan, and George McQuillan. We went
from our house, across the cove up the Condo trail, and over the South
Trail. We continued up Stinson to the summit and returned back down to
the Watts Trail across to the Mead Swamp Trail. At the junction we went
to the Camp Seven Trail and down the fire road to Stinson Lake road.
From that point we took the Buzzel Valley trail to the Mt Kineo trail as
far as the turn around at the beginning of the Mt Kineo hiking trail.
We then made our way back to Stinson Lake road to the Quick Lunch trail
back up to Mead Swamp and back to the house.
Overall the trails were in real good shape for this time of year. Some
early grooming really paid off in giving us a good base to work with.
There were still a couple a persistent water areas that have not frozen
over yet. Hopefully with some cold weather and more snow, these will be
resolved.
Saturday afternoon we did get some rain and some warm temperatures on
Sunday, but with some snow expected this week, I don't expect it will
take much to get things back to where they were.
Hope all of you got to take advantage of the early riding. We did and
it was a blast. It was great to get back out there again.
If you have any questions you can email me at
drewnutting@hotmail.com.
I look forward to seeing everyone out on the trails.
Thanks. Drew/Trail Master

The following is a trail report for 12/25/08
The recent rain has left us no worse for wear on the Bruhawachet
Sno-Trackers trail system. I went out grooming with Sam Nutting today
and although there were a few wet spots out there, there was plenty of
snow to fill in the low spots and water bars we encountered. Running
water on small brooks continues to be a problem, and you may run into a
spot that opens up so use caution. Here is an update on the following
trails:
South Trail opened and groomed with a few water bars and wet spots.
Stinson Trail opened and groomed to the Watts cutoff with a few water
bars. Ed B. has reported that he has made it to the summit but it has
yet to be groomed.
Watts Trail is open and in good shape with a few small water bars.
Mead Swamp open to the swamp and in very good shape.
Camp Seven in real good shape.
Stinson Lake Road is open and groomed with bad ice where plowed at the
Buzzell Valley junction.
North Trail is broke open but with heavy wet spots and water bars. Use
extreme caution.
Happy T trail is broke and open with only one wet area and in pretty
good shape.
NO REPORTS OR EVIDENCE OF ANY SLEDS TRAVERSING THE LONG END OF THE
LAKE!!!!
Some sleds have crossed the cove from the boat ramp to the condo trail
but with the recent rain the lake looked slushy. USE CAUTION!!!
Thanks, Drew/Trail Master

The following is a trail report for 12/21/08
Grooming operations continue as ten plus inches of snow fell on the
Bruhawachet Sno-Trackers trail system Friday night. Eight inches of new
snow is forecast to fall tonight.
Trails continue to open and conditions improve with additional snow and
cold weather helping to move things along. Grooming is filling holes
and closing up water bars so trails get better and better every day.
South trail is open and still have a couple of wet spots. Watts trail
is open with good coverage and a few low spots but overall in good
shape. The trail to Mead swamp is very good to the swamp with some
water bars on the back side that are filled. Camp Seven in in good
shape with plenty of snow. The road has not been plowed yet and is
groomed and open to riding. Quick Lunch is open and has a few rough
spots but is in pretty good shape.
Just remember to use caution as you go as it is still early in the
season and filling of water bars, trimming of downed trees, and grooming
operations continue. Trails will continue to open as time and weather
permit.
If anyone has any questions, you may email me at
drewnutting@hotmail.com.
Please remember that clubs depend on memberships and donations from you
to successfully maintain our trail system.
Thanks, Drew/Trail master

The following is an updated trail report for 12/18/08
Ed Healy and I went out in the ASV tonight and groomed the Mead Swamp
Trail, Camp Seven Trail and the Quick Lunch Trail.
The Mead Swamp Trail is in real good shape out to the back side of Mead
Swamp. On the back side of the swamp there are still a couple of water
bars that are passable but need to be filled in some more. The Camp
Seven Trail is in good shape out to the turn around with a few water
bars that should be approached with caution. The Quick Lunch Trail is
still in need of some grooming and is rough as you get to the bottom of
the big hill.
All of these conditions should improve with the expected snow fall
tomorrow and Sunday. Grooming will continue and more trails should open
after the week-end.
The lake is not safe but there have been reports that a few sleds
have been on the cove. I have not been on the lake at all so I cannot
vouch for it's safety.
Remember to join or donate to your local snowmobile club.
Thanks, Drew/Trail Master

The following is a trail report for 12/17/08
About 8 inches of new snow fell today on the Bruhawachet Sno-Trackers
trail system. This adds to the four inches of frozen base that was
already on the ground.
Dr. David Landseadel and I took out the ASV and groomed the South Trail,
The Stinson Mtn Trail (to the Watts Trail cutoff), the Watts Trail, and
the Mead Swamp Trail.
The Mead Swamp Trail is already in good shape with plenty of coverage.
The South Trail, Watts Trail and the Stinson Trail have snow coverage
but have some water bars that were covered by grooming today. Hopefully
they will freeze in before our next snow fall.
Tomorrow we hope to groom the Camp Seven Trail and the Quick Lunch
Trail. I will try to report on that progress tomorrow.
Weather forecast are saying there should be more snow late Friday and
then again late Sunday or Monday. If all goes well, more trails will be
open by next week.
If you attempt to ride this week-end be aware that some exposed rocks,
stumps and water may be encountered at any time and caution should be
used until snow cover and grooming improve conditions
Remember to join or donate to your local snowmobile club.
Thanks, Drew/Trail Master

Trail
report 12.08.2008
AND LET THE WINTER BEGIN!!!!
Freezing cold temps today (below zero) will help set up the trails for
the arrival of some significant snow. We have about 4 to 8 inches in
various areas of our trail system and should be close to start grooming
and opening trails by December 15th if all continues with the weather.
Equipment is being readied to roll out as soon as conditions permit.
Some tree trimming is yet to be done but this can be accomplished by
sled when the trails are open. We went out last week-end and cut downed
trees from the beginning on the Stinson Trail , across the Watts trail
and out to the Camp Seven turn around.
